Woops! Looks like I’m nearly 2 months late reporting this…

The Singapore National Barista Championship ‘08 is on again this year on the 24th and 25th of April at Singapore Expo in conjunction with Food & Hotel Asia.

1st Prize is $1,000 plus a trip to Copenhagen, Denmark for this year’s World Championships.
2nd Prize $700 Cash
3rd Prize $400 Case

Think they really need to up the prize ante. Though I think we have a long ways to go with gourmet coffee culture and baristas recognized as skilled professionals / artists. At least it is a step forward, better something than nothing I guess. But at least up the game and ante I reckon, right?
